I had an interesting thought yesterday. Once you get to be a certain age, you start to really accept your talents and structure what you are here to do - fulfill your purpose. The day you realize that you are meant to work in a particular industry or field, there is almost a relief that at least the initial part of the struggle is over. You identify yourself with a set of goals and try your best to carve out a personal career path. I often wonder what it was like for the young Martin to accept such a tall order, and what he must have thought about when he decided to go with it. What made him frustrated, and how he measured his progress? Did he even think about not making it? Was he even fearful? Just a couple things I think about when I watch this speech. It’ll never get old because it is not phony. It was a genuine, heartfelt message addressing real people…
I'd like to take this time to thank *Flaaaaav-or Flav* for his dedication and commitment to changing the direction of pop culture. First as a part of the groundbreaking Rap group Public Enemy, and then again as the Original VH1 Reality Pimp. Now everybody's doing it - next up is our favorite Porn Star: Ray J.
Finally someone with talent and a recent hit gets some shine on VH1. I gotta say that Ray J is a very entertaining individual so I will be tuning in to see what he's got up his sleeve. One thing we can count on from Ray J is the finest Vide-hos around. No uglies on this show - Oh no!
Tune in to VH1 each Monday at 10 pm to see how crazy things can get in a house with 14 bizzles competing for the most camera time as R&B star Ray J lays his pimp hand down. Beginning on Feb. 2 at 10:30/9:30c, we'll get an inside peek on how just Ray J does it. This young man has quite a track record, being tied to some of Hollywood's finest (such as Superhead, Lil Kim, Thick Kim (Kardashian)and Whitney) in such a consistent and deliberate fashion that its clear his game is serious.

I know I'm gonna catch heat for this one, but this is the definition of how to work your situation out. Many of us laughed when "Auberella" laughed and cried on the Season Finale of Making the Band, but this Bytch is laughing all the way to the bank. Bad Bytch #60 (in no particular order) ... Aubrey "Auberella" O'day...
When Aubrey got Diddy-ed on MTV, we were all entertained. I for one thought that D. Woods was the only smart one for not showing up, but Aubrey stayed, got her free publicity and even shouted out a few folks. I thought it was a little wierd, but it really just speaks the way this business works - Give, but take as much as you can.
Now, she's even more marketable than before and she's pretty smart. She made her mark as a member of Danity Kane contributing to two #1 Albums and about 1000 reality shows, so we know she's got some talent. Put that together with her fiery personality, sex appeal, controversial comments, and celebrity connections, and my friends, we have a star. Her upcoming Playboy Spread, previous broadway performance and clothing line make this lady pretty tough to F%$@ with. There are some of you who would disagree, but like it or not, she's relevant. Wednesday there's Kostume Karaoke at Solly's U Street Tavern. Wear your own costume or use one of theirs! Best of all this is s FREEVENT! (for the newbies this means: a Free Event)!
Thursday (at 8pm) catch The Rising Tide: New Art in China, at the Hirshorn Museaum. Robert Adanto's documentary about new video and photography in China is a must see.
